Friendly Feline Causes Latvian Politician to 'Paws' Live Q&A

The mayor of Riga, Latvia, had a live Q&A session interrupted by a friendly feline on Sunday, April 2, as he tried his best to answer questions from members of the public.

Around 17 minutes into one of Nils Usakovs’ regular Q&A sessions, the cat calmly makes its way across the table towards a coffee cup resting beside Ušakovs’ laptop.

The mayor looks amused by the cat, as he tries to pet it before it leaps away from the table.

The original video was broadcast to Usakovs’ YouTube on April 2, before as shorter clip was shared to Facebook on April 4. His furry friend went down a treat with viewers, with the clips accruing over 160,000 views across both platforms. Credit: Facebook/Nils Ušakovs • Нил Ушаков via Storyful
