Curious killer whales approached boaters in Monterey Bay, California, on April 27.

A family of curious orcas approached a whale watching boat tour after they had fed on a gray whale carcass for most of the day.

The boat drifted for an hour, and the whales swam all around and under the boat, turning their heads sideways to look at the passengers.

Monterey Bay Whale Watch said that “everyone on board was thrilled to see these animals in the wild and not captivity in a small tank. It was a lifetime experience for all.” Credit: Monterey Bay Whale Watch/Gowhales.com via Storyful
