Arne Slot and Liverpool have been patient this summer with just two transfers completed while a swathe of players have either been sold, loaned out or released. Both arrivals were secured in the final week of the window with the club adopting an ‘opportunistic’ approach in the market.

Liverpool welcomed in goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili earlier this week in a £29m deal. The Georgia international will not join until 2025 and remains at Valencia for this season.

The headline signing is Federico Chiesa from Juventus, who arrives in a £12.5m package. He is not expected to be involved against Manchester United this weekend, meaning his debut will likely come after the upcoming international break.

As for outgoings, Liverpool sanctioned a number of loans on deadline day. Stefan Bajcetic has joined former assistant coach Pep Lijnders at RB Salzburg for the season as Nat Phillips joins Derby County and Ben Doak moves to Middlesbrough until next summer.

The biggest fee received was £27.5m from Brentford for Fabio Carvalho, who was joined by Sepp van de Berg for a slightly lower fee. Bobby Clark’s £10m switch to Salzburg means Liverpool end with a positive net profit.
