Full list of Homebase stores as 49 face closure

Nearly 50 Homebase stores are reportedly at risk of closing down - despite a rescue deal from billionaire Chris Dawson. The Times said on Tuesday that all 130 branches of the DIY and garden retailer could have shut, with the chain expected to appoint administrators.

However, retail mogul Mr Dawson stepped in to save Homebase, safeguarding more than a 1,0000 jobs. Mr Dawson’s company CDS Superstores, owner of The Range and Wilko, has acquired the Homebase brand name, intellectual property, and up to 70 of its UK stores.

The stores will continue to trade under the Homebase banner but will eventually be turned into The Range stores. However, the Homebase brand will continue online. Nonetheless around 2,000 workers and some 49 stores remain at risk, according to Mail Online.
