Roads are closed in Gloucestershire today (Thursday, September 26) after flooding brought chaos to parts of the county. And more flash-flooding could be on the way with an amber alert issued from 6pm on Thursday until 6am on Friday.

Motorists have been caught out by flash-flooding during the extreme weather on roads with some stranded on the A40 near Charlton Kings last Friday. A BMW was left seemingly abandoned after being stuck in flood water on Monday under a bridge in the Cotswolds.

The Met Office has also issued a yellow alert for rain running from 6am today to 9am on Friday. It covers the whole of Gloucestershire as well as southern and central England and much of Wales.
