Full list of UK bank holidays in 2025 including all Easter, May and August dates
Holidaymakers are being reminded of the bank holidays yet to come in 2025 to help them plan any trips away.
Many people choose to go abroad or have a staycation around bank holidays, so it is useful to know what dates they fall on. Over the coming months, there will be seven bank holidays in England and Wales.
The Government confirmed in November 2024 that there are no plans to introduce extra bank holidays this year to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two, reports the Liverpool Echo. There were reports that ministers were contemplating additional days off to mark Victory in Europe (VE) Day or Victory over Japan (VJ) Day in 1945.

However, Downing Street clarified in November that this was not being considered. Being aware of the upcoming bank holidays can help you plan your time off and make the most of these dates.
It's important to remember that your employer is not obligated to give you paid leave on bank or public holidays. Bank holidays might also impact how and when your benefits are paid.
