Full list of West Midlands schools closed as UK hit by 28-hour snow storm

A number of schools are closed across Birmingham and the Black Country today after several inches of snow appeared on the ground overnight. Yellow warnings are in place in parts of the West Midlands.

Snow will continue to fall until around 10am today, according to the Met Office. Because of this, some schools have decided to shut for the entire day for health and safety reasons.

Parents should keep an eye out on school websites and/or social media pages to find out if their child is required to attend class. Several schools in the West Midlands have already announced they will not be opening.

  • Bellfield Junior School in Northfield

  • Bournville Primary School

  • Baskerville School, Harborne

  • Rednal Hill Infant School is delaying opening until 10am

  • Colmers high school is delaying opening until 10am

  • Longwill School for Deaf Children

  • Victoria School in Northfield

Black Country school closures

  • Temple Meadow Primary School in Cradley Heath has announced it will be "closed today due to snowfall"

  • Halesowen CofE Primary School is closed due to the school site being "very slippy"

  • Q3 Academy Langley, Oldbury, Moat Road.

  • The Earls High School in Halesowen has said it was delaying the start of school - with classes to start from 10.35am

  • Oldbury Academy

  • Perryfields Academy

  • Bristnall Hall Academy

  • Wood Green Academy in Wednesbury

  • Holly Lodge Smethwick

  • Shireland Collegiate Academy Smethwick

  • Shireland Technology Primary, Smethwick

  • Alder Coppice Primary School in Sedgley has announced it will be closed today due to the snow and the "state of the surrounding roads"
