Full list of Wetherspoon pubs at risk of closing across the UK
J D Wetherspoon, the well-known pub chain, is still on the hunt for buyers for several of its UK sites, including prominent locations in Cardiff, Swindon, and Felixstowe. Since the initial announcement in 2023, more venues have been added to the sales list, potentially shrinking the current portfolio of 790 pubs by 10 if buyers are found for the selected properties across Scotland, England, and Wales.
However, some pubs that were previously up for sale have escaped closure and will remain operating under the Wetherspoon brand. In a turn of events for local patrons, the Thomas Drummond in Fleetwood, which was first listed for sale in February, has now been removed from the market.
The establishment's manager, Claire Buxton, expressed her joy at the decision, saying it would be a "delight" for both customers and employees. She continued: "We look forward to serving the Fleetwood community for many more years to come."

Despite this good news, at least a dozen 'Spoons' have already shut their doors, leaving residents in search of new haunts that can match the chain's famously low-priced drinks, budget-friendly meals, and welcoming environment, reports the Express.
The London & Rye Wetherspoon in Catford represents the latest farewell within the group, having closed permanently after 24 years of service on Sunday, August 25. Earlier this year, the pub was put on the market by estate agent Savills, with bids starting at £850,000.
Despite concerns from customers that the sales could indicate difficulties for the pub chain, owner Tim Martin has reassured that the company is primarily closing "smaller and older" venues, or those where another site is nearby. Sefton Council recently approved the opening of a new Wetherspoons hotel in Southport, adding to their existing portfolio of 55 town centre lodgings.
Two more pubs are set to open in England next month, including The Lion & The Unicorn at London's Waterloo station.
