Liverpool are looking for a response in the Premier League after Nottingham Forest handed Arne Slot his first defeat as Reds head coach. Bournemouth visit Anfield on Saturday, eyeing a win to kickstart their season after an indifferent start.

The major talking point from the Dutchman's press conference was the injury problem to first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker. It has emerged that the Brazilian picked up a muscle issue during last weekend's defeat to Nuno Espirito Santo's side, and although he managed to play through it in their Champions League opener against AC Milan, the shot-stopper's condition has worsened - making him a doubt.

There was no sign of the former AS Roma goalkeeper during Friday's preparations, increasing the possibility of Caoimhin Kelleher making his first start in the Premier League since April. The Republic of Ireland number one has been open on his future, and as recently as the September international break, he expressed his intentions of playing week in, week out.

However, the 25-year-old looks set to make his first top-flight appearance of the season as the hectic period for the Reds continues. Following the full-time whistle at Anfield, preparations will swiftly turn to Wednesday when Liverpool kick off their Carabao Cup defence.

The Reds have history in the competition and Slot may be tempted to rest some of his key players for the visit of West Ham United. Ibrahima Konate and Diogo Jota have been everpresent this season, since the opening day win over Ipswich Town, Konate has been in each of the last five starting line-ups.

With their injury issues over the years, Slot and his medical team will be mindful of the workload asked of them as they look to avoid losing either of the pairings, plus their other players, for an amount of time. Federico Chiesa made his Liverpool debut in midweek, making a late cameo appearance in a 3-1 win over former foes AC Milan.

The Italian has been left out of the matchday squad in the last two Premier League fixtures but could be a name on the teamsheet this weekend. It will be the former Juventus forward's first involvement and taste of Anfield in a Premier League fixture following his summer move.

Harvey Elliott is among the notable absentees as he continues his recovery from a fractured foot, but besides that and the doubts over Alisson's fitness, it's a clean bill of health for Slot.
