The funniest Twitter reactions to Taylor Swift's new song London Boy
Taylor Swift’s London Boy lyrics have divided fans after she released her highly-anticipated new record Lover.
The singer's new album become available at midnight on Friday and quickly sent her loyal fans into meltdown on social media.
However, some Twitter users were left unsure of what to think of London Boy, while others heaped praise on the star for singing about the capital city.
The song is a love letter to the capital city - and the singer's British boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn.
Alluding to their three-year relationship, Swift sings: "So I guess / The rumours are true / you know I love a London boy" before name checking London spots from Camden Market to Hampstead Heath and "walking through Soho / Drinking in the afternoon."
One user sat on the fence and tweeted: “Do we think Joe Alwyn is as embarrassed yet also deliriously happy about London Boy as we are”
Another confused fan said: “This is literally me listening to london boy bc it's so trash but it's catchy as f***...I FANCY YOOUUUUU”

Meanwhile, other listeners poked fun at the lyrics - and the accent Swift attempted to use throughout the song - as she uttered British phrases like “uni” and “best mates”.
“Taylor Swift's London Boy is a lot more fun if you read the lyrics in Dick Van Dyke's cockney accent from Mary Poppins,” said a witty tweeter.
“THE LONDON ACCENT AT THE BEGINNING OF LONDON BOY PHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA,” another echoed.

Elsewhere on the Internet, One Direction fans were stubbornly convinced that the song was for Swift’s ex Harry Styles and not Alwyn.

The song even caused a mass appreciation for men with British accents, as one user shared: “London Boy is a huge W for the instagrams of American girls with British boyfriends. Awful song, though.”
