Fyre Festival guests are 'safe' says Ja Rule, amid comparisons to 'disaster relief zone'
News that Ja Rule’s luxury music festival in the Bahamas had turned into a “disaster relief zone” after punters forked out $10,000 for VIP tickets sparked sniggers online, however there was genuine concern for the safetly of the stranded revellers.
Party goers at Fyre Festival – which was promoted by a string of Instagram stars, supermodel Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski – arrived last week to find “half-built cabanas that were actually disaster relief tents”, low-quality food and luggage dumped out of shipping containers in the middle of the night.
Rockers Blink 182 had the sense to pull out of their planned performance after they got wind of the chaos unfolding and shortly after, Ja Rule announced the festival was being “fully postponed”.

However, guests were then left stranded at various airports in the US and the Caribbean and the 41-year-old rapper has now confirmed all attendees are “safe” and accounted for and they have been “sent the form” needed to apply for a refund of their ticket.

The star has now taken to Twitter to confirm that all attendees are accounted for.
He tweeted on Sunday: “Relieved to share that all guest are safe, and have been sent the form to apply for a refund. Our deepest apologies… #fyrefestival”

The news of the refund form comes after Ja Rule insisted the blunder wasn’t his fault, but said he was “taking responsibility” and working on returning the money to disappointed revellers.
The festival was due to run over two weekends and was billed as a “cultural moment created from an alchemic blend of music, art and food”.
Bella Hadid broke her silence over the weekend and said she had no idea about the production side of the festival.
Writing on social media, the 20-year-old star shared: “Hey guys, I just wanted to address Fyre Festival… Even though this was not my project whatsoever, nor was I informed about the production or process of the festival in any shape or form, I do know that it has always been out of great intent and they truly wanted all of us to have the time of our lives.”
