Galatasaray Fans Celebrate Back-to-Back League Titles

Galatasaray won Turkey’s Super Lig title for the second year in a row on Sunday, May 19, following a 2-1 win over local rivals Basaksehir at Istanbul’s Turk Telekom stadium.

Galatasaray and Basaksehir were level on 66 points with two matches to play coming into Sunday’s showdown. Galatasaray came from a goal down to win. Since head-to-head record rather than goal difference is used to decide between teams on equal points, the win made Galatasaray champions with one game to spare.
