Galloway Members' Group talk will see Alan McLellan walk the old Paddy Line from Dumfries to Stranraer

The speaker at next week’s NTS Galloway Members’ Group will be Alan McLellan on Walking the Old Port Paddy Line from Dumfries to Stranraer.

The meeting will be held in Threave House, Castle Douglas on Monday, October 7 at 2pm. £5 for members and £7 for guests.

In 2021 Alan McLellan walked the Old Port Line from Dumfries to Stranraer, filming as he went. As he walked, he met people who talked to him with stories, photos and films. His presentation will weave fascinating film footage and photos of the original Paddy railway with up-to-date images of what is left of the line, 60 years after it fell victim to the Beeching axe.
