Game of Thrones Bosses Confirm Bad News About The Show's Ending

Game Of Thrones’ fans are probably still in pretty high spirits after Monday night’s explosive yet amazing Season 6 finale, but show bosses have now confirmed some bad news.

Game Of Thrones’ co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have now admitted that despite the fact there are still two seasons left, they’re going to be a whole lot shorter with there being just thirteen more episodes to come.

What?! Thirteen?! But there is still so much more to happen!

Speaking to Deadline, Benioff explained: “It’s two more seasons we’re talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with.

"Call it 73 for now.”

There have already been 60 hour-long episodes of the hit fantasy drama, which means there are is only a maximum of 15 hours left. Wah.

And, to make matters worse, they’ll be divided over two series - which usually means two years.

Benioff went on to reassure fans that they will definitely be able to fit everything that still needs to happen into the short time left, explaining: “We’re trying to tell one cohesive story with a beginning, middle and end.

"We’ve known the end for quite some time and we’re hurtling towards it. Those last images from the [season six finale] showed that. Daenerys is finally coming back to Westeros; Jon Snow is king of the North and Cersei is sitting on the Iron Throne.

"And we know the Night King is up there, waiting for all of them. The pieces are on the board now.

"We wanted it to be one giant story, without padding it out to add an extra 10 hours, or because people are still watching it.

"We wanted to something where, if people watched it end to end, it would make sense as one continuous story.”

But considering it’s taken Gendry three seasons and counting to get from Dragonstone to King’s Landing, we have a feeling that not all of the many, many storylines will be tied up…
