Game of Thrones: my love-hate relationship with No One

There was a lot of progress this week, things are definitely going forward. And since it’s only two episodes left, it’s definitely a good thing - we can probably (hopefully) expect something epic for the end. It’s still kind of strange though - usually by this time they reach their peak but not this season. Everything and everyone is pretty tense right now, but it still feels like the calm before the storm. Let’s see who is still loveable in these preparations!

I loved…

  • Lady Crane - she was as badass and cool as kind. It was nice while it lasted.

  • The Hound is back in action! I almost forgot how violent this sweet man can be. Now that he’s joined the Brotherhood Without Banners, the fight between him and The Mountain doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon but heading North is equally exciting.

  • Tyrion and Varys are my favourite people on this show. And their relationship is so adorable, I could watch them for hours!

  • Okay, I don’t like The Mountain but I was quite happy to see the Faith Militant in a tough situation.

  • Pod and Bronn reunion! This season is quite big on reuniting long-lost friends and family and I’m always happy to see these scenes. They give a sense of lightness to the show - and I feel like we really need these approaching the endgame. With so many threatening factors we need a chance to smile.

  • Brienne and Jaime reunion! This was the best, their scene showed us how much Jaime has changed since the beginning of this show. And it was so nice to see people talking to each other like actual adults, without threats! Anyway, they’ve both come a long way and Jaime letting Brienne keep the Oathkeeper was a really nice symbol for that. (If Cersei wouldn’t exist, they would make an amazing power couple, don’t you think?)
It’s so strange how Jaime started out as one of my most-hated characters and now he is one of my favourites… He got so much wiser and kinder during these years - it’s a shame that he’s not like this when he is back at Cersei’s side.

  • The Tyrion, Missandei and Grey Worm trio still works hilariously. Their scene didn’t have any purpose but it was so good! And those jokes!

  • Arya and Jaquen - finally!

Finally, a girl is No One. A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell. And I’m going home.

I hated…

  • The Faith Militant - these fanatics are still annoying. They think they are superior to everyone but they are just as bad people as anyone else. (My skepticism is also a factor in my hatred towards them I suppose.)

  • I know I keep repeating myself about Tommen but he is just the worst. The other characters I/we hate are at least smart but he is naive and stupid. It looks like the prophecy Cersei heard when she was a young girl is all coming true. Is she going to go mad and fulfill the role of the Mad Queen?

  • The waif - killing Lady Crane was not cool at all.

  • No Bran - after showing us just how important he is shoving him to the side like this is suspicious.

I didn’t mention that Dany is back because I didn’t really feel anything about it, but with that we have all the chess pieces on the table. What do you think is going to happen? Will Sansa and Jon be able to take back Winterfell? Is Ramsay going to die? Is Cersei going mad? Is Daenerys finally going to arrive in Westeros? Are we going to see a battle between the living and the dead? What’s Bran’s role in all this? Is Gendry ever going to come back? So many questions…
