Warning: Contains spoilers for Game of Thrones seasons 1-7, naturally.

If we can guarantee anything about the final season of Game of Thrones, it's that there will be some major deaths.

After all, it's what the show has revelled in during its seven seasons to date – originally because it was just following George RR Martin's diabolical twists, but having overtaken the books, the show is fully responsible for certain deaths, leaving even book fans unsure who is safe.

It can be tricky to keep track of all the bloodshed, so here's a helpful reminder before the final season of who's alive and who's dead in the TV world of Game of Thrones.

NB – This isn't an exhaustive list of EVERY character as we'd be here until 2019. We've loosely arranged them by Houses (that characters are born into or currently pledged to) for ease of reading.

We've already been putting our thinking caps on as to what Daenerys, Tyrion and Jon Snow will be up to in season eight…

Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere in 2019. The show airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and Now TV in the UK. Season 7 is now available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray or digital download.
