Game of Thrones season 8 was... let's just say it was contentious for fans.
A lot of decisions were made that didn't follow through on what the show had been building up to, and while subverting expectations can be a very good thing, it needs to be executed well enough to justify doing it.
One of those controversial decisions was to have Arya Stark be the one to kill the Night King, even though he's been the arch-enemy of Jon Snow for multiple seasons, making life tough for him while Arya was off doing her training.
Maisie Williams is not bothered by that decision. In fact, she told The Hollywood Reporter that she thinks it actually worked out for the best. Of course, she would say that.
"[Kit Harington] expected it to go [Jon Snow's] way, too, and he even said, 'It was going to go that way. Someone told me in season 3 that I was going to kill the Night King.' And then, he read the script, and it was Arya the whole time," she said to the publication.
"I think it would've been too obvious. I'm glad that it was Arya, honestly. I think I had the best storyline of the final season."
Maisie currently has a few projects on the go, including indie horror-thriller The Owners, and new Sky One comedy Two Weeks to Live, which we quite enjoyed.
