Game of Thrones season 7 has almost come to a close (sob) and while we're set for two whopping bumper episodes, which might soften the sting of the shorter season, it seems this year's big climax won't feature any huge battles.

While we're set to get an onslaught in episode 6, 'Beyond the Wall', as Jon Snow's band of grizzly warriors head north to steal a White Walker zombie, we might not be getting anything quite as epic in the final episode.

Entertainment Weekly revealed in its spoiler room feature, which gives small insights into readers' favourite shows, that things might be a bit more sedate in the seventh episode.

Writer Natalie Abrams teased: "I hear we get the last major battle scene of the season this Sunday, with Jon Snow's north of the Wall adventure, which you have to figure not everyone will survive. Also, Arya and Sansa's tension goes to a new level."

This sounds fairly typical pacing as per Game of Thrones' previous seasons, as the penultimate episode of season 6 was 'Battle of the Bastards', while season 5 had the giant zombie battle in 'Hardhome' in episode 8.

We've already seen pictures of Jon Snow's gang in the latest Game of Thrones teasers from HBO. Meanwhile, a fan-made meme has pointed out one of the biggest plot holes in the show.

In other Game of Thrones news, Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish actor Aidan Gillen pointed out that we may all be misreading his supposedly romantic obsession with Sansa Stark.

And as we approach the end of season 7, we've begun to pull together everything we know so far about the Game of Thrones spin-offs which should be coming after the show finishes in 2018.
