Blood flows and war is declared in the latest brutal Game of Thrones season seven trailer.

An extended look at the Primetime Emmy Award-winning HBO and Sky Atlantic fantasy series' penultimate seasons paints a grim picture of what lies ahead in the Seven Kingdoms.

As Cersei and Jaime Lannister (Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) plot to maintain their hold over King's Landing, they face imminent threats from Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) at sea and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the North.

But threats to Jon Snow's reign as King in the North don't only come from the Lannister army. Kit Harington has hinted that any afterglow from Jon's resurrection has is fading fast.

"But as for seasons beyond six, it's back to business. He's in mortal danger like anyone else."

Over in the warmer bit of Westeros, cast member Rory McCann also revealed that The Hound and his new friends in the Brotherhood Without Banners will face their own turmoil in the episodes ahead.

"I think my body can only take one more season – I'm sore," the actor teased.

Because this is a shortened penultimate season of Game of Thrones, all but one of the upcoming episodes have extended running times… with the finale stretching to movie length!
