Game of Thrones season 8, episode 6 trailer: a final goodbye to Westeros

Game of Thrones spoilers below, naturally.

After almost a decade spent immersed in the drama, deaths and dragons of Westeros, the final episode of Game of Thrones'final season is airing tomorrow.

The yet-to-be-named Season 8, Episode 6 has just under an hour and a half to wrap up seventy-two episodes of complex story lines and character arcs, not least including the aftermath of Mad Queen Daenerys' Machiavellian massacre in King's Landing.

Will we ever find out the point of the Night King? Watch any of our Game of Thrones theories come to fruition? Figure out why a white horse was wandering around Old Town so Arya could hitch a ride? The final trailer may offer a few clues:

The trailer breakdown

While the trailer for the final episode offers few crumbs to follow, there is a definite sense that another battle awaits Daenerys.

In the clips we see Jon, Davos and Tyrion all wandering around King's Landing (or the lack thereof) to take in the rubble that remains after The Bells.

We see a well and truly ruined Red Keep, Arya lurking in the shadows of Daenerys' almost unbelievably large army, and Daenerys' somehow expertly braided mane walking towards said army, surrounded in the ashes of Drogon's handiwork.

"I am not here to be queen of the ashes", as she said in season 7, no longer.

As many fans might suspect, Arya also looks very much like she wants to kill the Mad Queen. She does have those "green eyes" left to kill in her prophecy after all.

Sansa and Bran are missing from the trailer but are almost necessary to the Game's conclusion, suggesting the show's creators are keeping most of the final episode's events under wraps.

Foreshadowing considered, it's fair to expect a truly tragic finale.
