Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams confirmed as guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams is the first celebrity judge to be confirmed for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

The 22-year-old actor, who played Arya Stark on the now-ended HBO series, shared her love of drag, stating: “What I love the most about drag is the story of the drag queen behind the facade. I think that so much of drag comes from a place of real pain and seeing how that transforms into a character is so interesting to me. I love that about art and about drag.”

Graham Norton and Alan Carr will appear as rotating resident judges across the eight-part series, adapted from the successful US TV series, appearing alongside host RuPaul and Michelle Visage.

Carr has previously interviewed RuPaul on his show Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, while Norton appeared as a guest judge on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars in the US, back in 2016.

The Independent critic Nick Hilton was unimpressed by Game of Thrones‘s final episode, critiquing the “misjudged ending and hammy delivery” of the final scenes. Read the full review here.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will debut on BBC Three later this year.
