Game of Thrones star told off for swearing live on GMB

Game of Thrones star Charles Dance got himself into trouble today (August 23).

The actor, who played Tywin Lannister in the hit HBO series, appeared on Good Morning Britain and accidentally swore live on the show.

It came about when the 70-year-old was discussing his recent stint on BBC series Who Do You Think You Are?.

He said: "It was quite an adventure as I knew very little about my father. My mother didn't tell us very much. I had this old photograph of him, which I gave to the researchers along with what minimal information my mother had given me.

"But they still managed to find out so much. It was incredible. I am so pleased I took part because now I am able to tell my children a bloody sight more than what I was told."

With that, presenters Kate Garraway and Jeremy Kyle gave Charles a telling off.

"Even with that amazing voice, you can't keep swearing because you are going to get us into trouble," Kate said. "There are kids watching!"

Charles then looked confused and wasn't sure what he'd said to cause any offence.

Laughing, Kate told him: "I suppose [bloody] doesn't count in the world of Game of Thrones."

During the interview, Charles opened up about his time on the hit HBO series.

Commenting on his character being killed off by his son Tyrion, Charles joked: "The ungrateful little sod. After all I'd done for him!"

He then added: "It was enormous fun to be part of that show, principally because it is really well written and HBO spends money on it. The production value is cinematic.

"I still continue to watch it because I want to see what happens next."

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am.
