A gang who stole luxury cars from driveways have been ordered to repay just £1 each – despite making thousands from their scheme.

The four men stole vehicles including a Mercedes convertible and an Audi TT during their reign of terror across wealthy villages.

They made £19,936 from selling the cars, but were ordered to pay back the tiny sum at a Proceeds of Crime hearing heard at Cardiff Crown Court.

Robert Coulson, who made £10,000 from the thefts, must repay a more significant sum of £2,250.

But Miles Bishop, 34, Gareth Elliott, 38, Steven Gorry, 31, and Geni Dragjoshi, 30, have been ordered to pay back just £1 – due to their lack of assets.

The gang stole the vehicles from towns including Peterson-super-Ely in the Vale of Glamorgan and Chepstow in Monmouthshire. They also took cash, jewellery, a Faberge egg and an MBE medal which they resole.

The gang were eventually caught using CCTV to track the vehicles movements.

Gorry and Bishop were both sentenced to seven years in jail after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracyy to steal cars.

Elliot was sentenced to two years for handling stolen gods, while Dragjoshi was sentenced to one year for the same charge.
