Gareth Bale has hinted at a return to the Premier League after making the difference in the Champions League final for Real Madrid.

The Welshman, who was left on the bench for the second European final in a row, came on after the break handing Zinedine Zidane’s side the lead with one of the best goals in the competitions history, before adding a second himself profiting from a Loris Karius mistake.

The former Tottenham and Southampton player has been repeatedly linked with a return to the Premier League, having left in 2013.

Bale has started 20 games in La Liga this season and just three in the Champions League, and hinted that he could leave the Spanish capital this summer.

“Obviously I need to be playing, I need to be playing week in week out and that hasn’t happened this season for one reason or another,” Bale told BT Sport when asked about a return to England.

“I had about a five or six week injury at the start of the season and I’ve been fit ever since.

“Obviously now I have to sit down in the summer and discuss it with my agent and take it from there.

“Disappointed not to start the game, thought I deserved it but the manager makes those decisions.”
