Gary Lineker throws sass at Trump and Piers Morgan

Gary Lineker has continued his quest to be the people's champion by throwing some more shade at Donald Trump and Piers Morgan.

The Match of the Day host responded to Trump's post about his inauguration - "THE MOVEMENT CONTINUES - THE WORK BEGINS!" - by joking about Piers's friendship with the soon-to-be President.

"Hope it's not a bowel movement as @piersmorgan could fall out," joked Gary, following up another bottom-centred zinger last night about Piers being "firmly wedged between Donald Trump's butt cheeks".

But, surprise surprise, Piers wasn't about to let Gary get the final word.

"I really wouldn't be mocking people for bowel movements if I were you, Jugs," he responded, referencing the unfortunate incident at the World Cup in 1990 where Gary, ahem, had a little poo on the pitch.

And for those of you who don't watch football, here it is in all its glory.

Not that it bothers Gary, given that he admitted it several years ago, replying to Piers's jibe with, "Shat on bowel movements".

Last year, Gary won a lot of respect when he followed through on his promise to host Match of the Day in his underwear if his beloved Leicester City won the Premier League, which they duly did.

His brief appearance in his boxers led to a ratings rise as 4.1 million tuned in to see Gary in his underwear, up on the previous season's 3.8m.
