Gator-rade! Chubbs the 15ft alligator returns to Florida golf course

A 15-foot alligator has been spotted for the first time in two years prowling a Florida golf course.

The gator, named ‘Chubbs’ after a character in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore, is a famous resident of Buffalo Creek Golf Course, just outside Tampa, but has not been seen out and about on the course since 2016.

Members at the club are more than happy to have Chubbs grace their course, with staff previously claiming he is good for business.

Chubbs was spotted by golfer Sage Stryczny, who posted the video on Facebook, and his father as they were playing.

Speaking to WFLA, Stryczny said: “He was a beast. Me and my dad were about to hit off the tee on a par 3 and we saw him laying right on the green.

“We were trying to golf, so we were within 50 feet of him after we hit our shots.

"He took a lot of rests. My dad says he’s never seen anything like it in all the years golfing.

“It was definitely a cool sight to see.”
