Gavin & Stacey ended very nicely over a decade ago, but then last year's Christmas special came along and showed us that there are still plenty of stories left to tell, especially with that cliffhanger ending.

Since then, we've heard a LOT about whether there will ever be another Christmas special, a new special elsewhere in the year, or even a full series – although none of it is definitive.

Mick actor Larry Lamb has now had his say, suggesting that he strongly believes there's still more to come, but it could be a while off if so.

"After how well the Christmas special went down last year, it's highly unlikely there won't be more," he told The Telegraph.

"We're all ready, but when it'll be, that's up to James [Corden], Ruth Jones and the BBC. I just hope they knock another one out before I'm dead! That or they can start at the graveside."

His comments echo those of Stacey actress Joanna Page (who is hosting a reunion show on Christmas Day on BBC Radio Wales), who previously said that they need to do another one to see how that cliffhanger turns out.

Ruth Jones, however, recently stated that there are no current plans to write any more, and quite likes the fact the ending is open.

Meanwhile, James Corden stated that if the show comes back, it will be for the "last, final" time.

Gavin And Stacey's 2019 Christmas special is available now on DVD.
