Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page has revealed she has no plans to get back into acting in the future, and would be more than happy to stick to presenting gigs from hereon in.

The actress, who famously played titular character Stacey Shipman in the hugely popular comedy series, also admitted that only the prospect of appearing in a follow-up to the show's 2019 Christmas special could persuade her to think otherwise.

"We all want to know what Smithy said at the end," she recently told The Mirror, noting how the last episode ended with Ruth Jones' Nessa popping the question to James Corden's Smithy.

"It's such a great job. You're working with people who make you laugh all day long like Rob Brydon," she said. "The Christmas special felt like a big reunion.

"I [just] really enjoy presenting and it works a lot better with a family as you don't have to go away for weeks on end. For the first six months after I had Eva, I was away working filming two shows back-to-back.

"I had my mum looking after her on set but it was so tough as all I wanted to do was spend time with my new baby," Page added, before explaining that she just finds presenting "a lot more interesting" as every day is different from the last.

"I love just being myself and chatting to people," the Love Actually star said. "It can be a lot more fun than sitting alone in a trailer for hours learning lines, then going out to do a scene where you're pretending to be somebody else."

Back in August, Page announced that she and actor husband John Thornton are expecting to welcome their fourth child together in December. They already share 8-year-old Eva, and two sons, aged 6 and 4.
