Gemma Collins considering suing the BBC after Radio 1 Teen Awards fall

Gemma Collins could sue the BBC following her fall at the Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday – which she says might have left her “legless”.

The TOWIE star suffered a bad back and bruises after she took a tumble through a trap door while on stage at the event at Wembley’s SSE Arena, and she is now looking into the possibility of taking legal action against the broadcaster.

She told The Sun: :”I’ve got to consult a lawyer, yeah. The BBC, they’ve not been in touch with any compensation or anything – or even an apology.

“It’s very important this gets sorted out because really you know what it is – it’s negligence. Do you know what I find shocking? The BBC hasn’t sent any flowers. Nothing.”

Gemma believes she is lucky to be alive after the dramatic fall, and also feels fortunate she was not left disabled by the incident.

She said: “I’m in total shock. It is a miracle I am living to tell the tale.

“I could have died or at least been disabled at the end of it. I could have been legless. Legless!”

The 36-year-old star feared she was being crushed by a hydraulic platform which was raising Love Island stars Amber Davies, Jamie Jewitt and Marcel Somerville onto the stage, insisting she wasn’t told in advance how the production would work.

She said: “I’m not being funny, I didn’t even get a tenner for turning up. I didn’t even know there was a hole there.

“To be honest when it happened I didn’t know where I was, what day of the week it was. No joke, my life did flash before my eyes. I thought I was dead.”

Yesterday, Gemma apologised to the Love Island stars for “wiping them out” and admitted she found the experience “absolutely hilarious”, despite being in pain.

Speaking on This Morning earlier today, Gemma said: “I must say I’m in a bit of shock still. But I have found the whole experience absolutely hilarious.

“However, I am in a bit of pain this morning, I’m not going to lie. The seriousness of it is … What people don’t see under there is there’s all machinery going on.

“Because the three Love Island guys were coming up on the stage. I just want to apologise, as I wiped them out. They had to go and see the paramedics afterwards.”
