Gemma Collins nearly ended up in hospital with a mystery illness earlier this month.

The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star has revealed that she was almost rushed to hospital for urgent medical care by her fiance Rami Hawash after becoming “really unwell” with an unknown condition.

The 41-year-old TV star - who was previously diagnosed with an under-active thyroid - told OK! magazine: "I have been so ill I cannot tell you. My workload has been a lot, but I've had a virus. I've been really, really, really unwell. I literally had to film up in Wales and I was very unwell.

"I had to call the doctor out and the doctor said to me, 'Look I'm going to give you medicine but I actually think this is a virus and it's not going to work.'"

The ‘More Than Daffs and Taffs’ star wanted to power on through - but her "body having none of it".

Gemma said: "This time my body was having none of it. Basically, I’ve been on drips. Rami nearly had to take me to the hospital on Saturday night because I was collapsing on the floor.

"Literally, it was really really bad whatever I've had, it's been awful."

The former ‘Only Way is Essex’ star says her health scare is something she wouldn’t wish on her "worst enemy".

However, Gemma is now on the mend and she's emphasised the importance of eating organically, admitted it's had a "significant impact" on her life.

She said: "I love my body. I find the small changes that I've been making have had such an amazing, significant impact - life-changing choices on me."
