Gemma Collins on social media break to 'focus on skating' after Jason Gardiner spat

Gemma Collins has told fans she is taking a social media break to “focus on her skating skills” after a turbulent couple of weeks on Dancing On Ice.

The reality star, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, accused Jason Gardiner of “selling stories” on her during Sunday’s live show after he rubbished her second skate.

But the judge hit back at her claims, calling Collins a “brat”, with the public spat leaving many uncomfortable viewers complaining to Ofcom.

On Tuesday, Collins announced that she was going to be taking some time away from social media after today to “up her skills” but promised fans that she would be back on Sunday.

Collins wrote: “Guys after today I can’t be on social as I really need to up my skating skills. I’m not leaving you but I really need to focus.

“Here’s a little something to keep you going xxx. I’ll be back up and running Sunday.”

Attached to the post, the 37-year-old shared a meme from a Twitter account dedicated to her diva antics showing her yelling “boring” at the Australian judge in a remix of Ariana Grande's hit Thank U, Next.

On Sunday night, Collins made her feelings clear about Gardiner’s comments on her “mediocre” career as her and partner Matt Evers received their feedback from the judges.

After Gardiner was less than complimentary about her Marilyn Monroe-inspired skate, Collins launched a scathing attack on him for making her “so upset” in the past week.

Collins – who made no secret of how the media coverage had impacted her training – said: “Maybe if you didn’t sell stories on me, maybe I wouldn’t have been so upset this week.

“So take that. Boring. Next. Don’t sell stories on me. Don’t sell stories on me.”

Dancing On Ice is on ITV, Sunday at 6pm
