Gemma Collins threatens to quit 'Dancing on Ice' over Vengaboys song

This year’s Dancing on Ice hasn’t even premiered yet but TOWIE star and contestant Gemma Collins has already threatened to quit the series.

The larger-than-life television personality had previously vowed to be ‘Beyonce on ice’ and said she refuses to be the show’s ‘fat joke’ but given the above clip she may end up eating her words.

In the hilarious video, the 37-year-old is none too happy when her ice skating pro partner Matt Evers plays the Vengaboys hit ‘We Like to Party!’ as their first performance song.

The Europop 1999 hit appears to be far too cheesy for the likes of the GC (her self-given nickname) who declares to a stunned Evers: ‘I’m not coming out to that!’

Collins goes on: “Are you joking? I’m leaving the show! Is this a joke? No! I am leaving the show!”

As Evers tries to convince her that their performance will be ‘like a big old production’ Collins defiantly and repeatedly refuses to perform to the tune.

But in a follow-up scene Evers has surely won her over, as she dances round the ice rink singing ‘The Venga Bus is coming! Da da da da da!’

Gemma Collins famously quit another ITV reality show, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, in 2014 after just three days in the jungle.

During her short stint on the show she complained about the harsh living conditions, lack of food and also feared she was suffering from malaria. (She was not).

Dancing on Ice host Philip Schofield has joked that he doubts Collins will get very far on the ice skating competition show.

The This Morning presenter told The Sun: “I think the nation is intrigued to see Gemma! Now we know who she is partnered up with and Matt will be absolutely brilliant with her.

“I’ve said it to Gemma, ‘if you make the first show it’ll be a miracle’ and she does seem very committed.

“We all know Gemma for being a bit of a quitter so I’m hoping she’ll be there for that first show. I think she’ll be actually very good!”

Dancing on Ice starts on Sunday 6th January at 6pm.
