Gemma Collins shares moving update after revealing her parents are battling the coronavirus

Gemma Collins has shared a moving image showing her holding her dad’s hand after revealing that both of her parents are “extremely unwell” with the coronavirus.

The reality TV star recently told fans on social media that her parents Joan and Alan both have the virus, and that it had “totally wiped” out her dad.

Updating her followers on Instagram, Collins shared a touching picture of her dad in bed, with her clutching his hand.

“COVID is so scary laying next to my dad holding his hand right now,” she wrote, adding prayer, crying and broken-hearted emojis. “I am showing you this to create awareness of how real COVID is.”

In her original post, Collins urged fans to “please please please take notice of the guidelines” around the coronavirus.

“Both my parents are extremely unwell with COVID-19!” said The Only Way Is Essex star.

“Seeing my dad cry which he never does! Was a shock and say he would rather be dead then experience everything he is going through right now... this has totally wiped him out and it’s heartbreaking.

“My mum also is extremely extremely unwell with Covid also, this is real!”

Collins went on: “And please please take notice and keep your loved ones SAFE.

“It really is petrifying ... what a difference a year makes...

“STAY HOME!!! STAY SAFE!!! SAVE LIFES without your health !!! You got nothing !!!!”
