Gemma Ward Set to Walk the Runway Pregnant

Australian model Gemma Ward has revealed that she will walk the runway while pregnant for the David Jones spring-summer 2016 fashion show this week.

The 28-year-old, who is 14 weeks pregnant, told the Daily Telegraph that she is happy to celebrate her changing figure on the David Jones runway.

“I just think it is a really lovely way to celebrate a period in what some women go through, and it is nice to celebrate all the different ways your body changes.”

Ward also joked that she’s “really doing this so that my baby can have a first catwalk show early.”

Ward hasn’t walked for David Jones since she was 15, but this time, she will have her best friend, Jessica Gomes, by her side.

Just last month Ward announced that she is pregnant with her second child.

“Yes, we are expecting our 2nd,” she captioned her ultrasound video on her Instagram account.

The couple already have a 2-year-old daughter, Naia, together, and Ward previously claimed motherhood has completely changed her life.

“[Naia has] changed my life for the better; she’s my reason to live and my reason to grow as a person. I feel like I’m more carefree, but I also have direction,” she said.

Ward has also hinted that her adorable tot may enter the modeling world one day and follow in her successful mother’s footsteps.

“I am in a unique position where I can mentor her and tell her what to expect and also what to look out for, because there are a lot of pitfalls and things you need to look out for,” said Ward.

“I think I would be quite protective, but I wouldn’t dissuade her.”
