Genius ways to stop spiders from entering your home as 'spider season' begins
As spider season looms, those with arachnophobia or a general dislike for the eight-legged visitors may be seeking ways to keep them at bay.
Lynsie Crombie, known on social media as Lynsey Queen Of Clean, has gathered several tips for spider prevention and removal, sharing her advice in an Instagram video. In her post, Lynsey wrote: "Spider season [spider emoji] Autumn tends to mark the start of spider mating season, which means you are likely to spot these creepy crawlies popping up all over your home."
She added: "As well as keeping your home clean, check for spiderwebs [spider web emoji] and follow the simple tips."

One of Lynsey's key suggestions is to humanely catch and release spiders outdoors, reports the Express. She advises: "It's spider season guys, so grab yourself one of these really handy spider catchers, and no harm comes to the spider."
Beyond just removing spiders, Lynsey offers strategies to deter them from entering homes in the first place.
A deterrent technique she recommends involves using cinnamon sticks or powder at entry points and corners because spiders detest the scent. Additionally, Lynsey employs cinnamon-scented candles to "make sure that they stay away".
Lynsey, also recommends a peppermint oil solution to deter spiders: "Dilute some peppermint oil into a spray bottle and use this to spray all around your entranceways. This is going to stop them coming in, as again, they hate the small."
She also advises pouring boiling water down the sink plughole to prevent spiders from crawling in, and suggests keeping it sealed with a plug or an upside-down glass for easy removal of anything that might get through.
