Gentle lurcher rescued after being preyed upon by other animals
A dog with a beautiful nature who suffered a lifetime of attacks from other animals in her previous home, is finally experiencing peace, kindness, and comfort after years of living in fear. The beautiful white lurcher was covered in wounds from constant harm, but her transfer to an animal rescue centre marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
Poppy was brought into the care of the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home under sad circumstances as in her previous multi-animal household, she was sadly preyed upon by the other animals and was signed over through no fault of her own. She is described as a gentle and lovable lurcher, whose body has suffered hardship but her heart remains full of hope and a desire to be loved.
When she arrived, her condition spoke volumes about her previous struggles: two broken teeth, patches of fur missing, and a body marked by scars and wounds. Despite it all, Poppy’s spirit shines brightly, and from the moment she arrived, her gentle nature and sweet soul have captured the hearts of everyone who meets her especially her main care giver Natasha.

Animal care assistant Natasha said: "It was truly heart-breaking to see Poppy's scared body when she first arrived but a real testament to her bravery and strength to see how kind and loving she remained. I am so happy that Poppy found her way here and she is finally experiencing the care, comfort, and kindness every dog deserves."
Poppy received a thorough vet check which confirmed the need for urgent dental treatment due to her two broken canines and dental disease, an issue that’s causing her discomfort. She has been placed on pain relief and is scheduled to have a dental procedure.
These procedures don’t come without costs, with your help, we can ensure she receives the medical care she needs to heal and thrive. Your donations can help us cover the cost of her dental procedures and ensure she’s ready to embark on a future filled with love and happiness.
