There has reportedly been a marriage proposal as the Geordie Shore cast film in Thailand, with a star who 'quit' Newcastle at the end of the last series getting down on one knee.

Having filmed in Portugal and Cyprus over the last few years, the cast of the MTV show are now in Thailand to shoot the new series, with the likes of Chloe Ferry, Sophie Kasaei and returning star Scotty T posting videos of their trip on Instagram to give fans an insight into what's been going on since cameras started rolling last week.

But it's none of those who now have an engagement ring on their finger, but instead Leah Bowley, after Geordie Shore original James Tindale popped the question to his other half at the luxurious Conrad Koh Samui resort. In photos published by The Sun, the couple are seen on a candlelit beach, after Leah was blindfolded and let to where the big surprise happened.

An insider claims that James told Leah: 'You're my best friend, my soulmate, you bring out the best version of me and you make me so happy everyday, you're the person I want to marry, you,re going to be the mother to our kids - will you marry me? You make me so happy and the best version of myself."

James and Leah were at the centre of an emotional moment at the end of the most recent run of Geordie Shore earlier this year, with James announcing to his castmates that he was leaving Newcastle behind to start a new life with Leah in Dubai, some 13 years after he went into the Geordie Shore house for the first ever series back in 2011.

In a speech to his co-stars at a cast party at Revolucion de Cuba in Newcastle, James said: "We've been on an amazing journey over the years. A lot has been in Newcastle, which I thought for a long time was going to be my home forever. But now, obviously with Leah coming into my life...last year was really hard and I learnt that life's short, so when this opportunity come, we just thought at this time in our lives, we're going to embrace it."
