Geordie Shore's Nathan Henry and Zahida Allen have opened up about the racist and homophobic abuse they've received after appearing on the show.

Chatting to The Sun, both revealed their shock at the extent of the abusive messages they've received, particularly as some were from adults with children.

Of her experience, Zahida said: "Some things are so disgusting you can't ignore them.

"There was this one woman who persistently messaged me over the course of three months after midnight. She had kids so I'm assuming that she was waiting until her kids and husband were in bed, then she'd go on Instagram and start calling me p**i."

She added: "That's so shocking to think that these people who are racially abusing young girls on social media are actually responsible for raising children."

Nathan also spoke frankly about similar experiences, explaining that he's been frequently subjected to racial and homophobic slurs by "grown men".

"I'm so shocked that the majority of the people abusing us are adults with families with kids, and not young people who don't know better," he admitted.

Nathan, who was the show's first bisexual cast member, said: "I get loads of racist and homophobic messages, calling me the n-word and a f*ggot.

"I'll click on the profiles and it'll be grown men posing with their three kids. I just look at them and think, 'You're trying to escape your own reality by trying to hurt me, but you won't succeed'."

Geordie Shore returns tonight (March 28) at 10pm on MTV.
