Twins are apparently on the way for George Clooney and his human-rights-lawyer wife Amal.

After lots of speculation on Thursday (February 9), their friend Julie Chen said on her US chatshow The Talk that she'd personally confirmed the happy news with George and Amal.

"Beyoncé is not the only star expecting twins," Julie told viewers. "Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney!

"The Talk has confirmed that the 55-year-old superstar and his highly-accomplished 39-year-old attorney wife are expecting twins. What we did find out... is that the twins are due this June!"

This latest round of reporting came about after Amal was apparently snapped with a baby bump in Barcelona. There were previous pregnancy rumours for George and Amal earlier in the year.

Digital Spy has reached out to George Clooney's spokesperson for more information.

Long-standing bachelor George made headlines around the world when he and Amal got engaged back in the spring of 2014. They'd ultimately tie the knot at the Venetian palace Ca' Farsetti four months later.

Last spring, the traditionally-private George opened up about how he found "the love of [his] life" at 52 years old.

"I've never been happier in a relationship by any stretch of the imagination," he admitted to Esquire. "At 52 I found the love of my life and I'm really happy."

Prior to his relationship with Amal, George was famously linked to ex-WWE star Stacy Keibler, model Lisa Snowdon, Bridget Jones star Renée Zellweger and Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis.

He was of course also married to Mad Men and Divorce actress Talia Balsam for four years between 1989 and 1993. Balsam is now married to former Mad Men co-star John Slattery.
