George Best retro collection released as Manchester United remember 'legendary player'
Manchester United have released a brilliant new George Best retro collection to commemorate the club's famous European Cup win of 1968. The collaboration with Adidas Originals was launched on Friday and is a nod to one of the club's greatest eras.
It is inspired by the 1968 European Cup final shirt, when Best scored a crucial goal in the famous 4-1 win over Benfica at Wembley. With it United became the first English club to win the trophy.
The retro gear carries the famous blue colour Sir Matt Busby's side wore that night, and "accurate vintage details" including the Manchester City Council crest.

Manchester United said: "This official Manchester United x adidas George Best collection is a tribute to one of the sport’s most talented players and a celebration of a great era in United’s history.
"Inspired by the 1968 European Cup Final shirt, where Best scored a crucial goal, with its bold, blue colour and accurate vintage details like the Manchester City Council crest.
"Find tracksuits, jerseys, and trainers in this collection that add retro style to your outfits, finished with Best’s number 7 on each piece and his signature above the cuffs so you can show you respect to this legendary player."
The collaboration is inspired by 1968 Balon D'or winner and Belfast hero Best and the 1968 European Cup Final, a defining moment in Manchester United's history and the "making of a legend".
The collection is available now at United Store. The long sleeve jersey and tracksuit top are each priced at £90, while the tracksuit bottoms are £65. The collection also includes the Manchester United x George Best Originals Gazelle trainers at £100.
They can be purchased from the Manchester United and Adidas official websites.
