It's the look that flooded a million Pinterest boards and now the mastermind behind the Duchess of Sussex's wedding hair has been revealed.

George Northwood, the British hairdresser known for creating iconic styles for the likes of Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, has opened up about working with Meghan for her big day in 2018.

Taking to Instagram, Northwood shared a selection of images in an ode to the most iconic hair looks he's created for the duchess over the last two years. His series of posts begins with the messy bun Meghan wore for the evening of her wedding to Prince Harry. Elegant yet effortless, it was an instant hit and worked beautifully with the bride's Stella McCartney high neck gown.

The hairdresser also worked on the sleek up-do Meghan sported for the British Fashion Awards in 2018 and created her loose waves during the Australian tour. More recently, he was the stylist behind her ponytail at the Endeavour Fund Awards when Harry and Meghan made their first joint public appearance since announcing that they would be stepping down as senior members of the British royal family.

"It has been an enormous privilege and a lot of fun working with the The Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the past two years," wrote Northwood. "I have enjoyed every minute collaborating with this amazing couple who not only champion small businesses, but have taught me so much about diversity, equality and the importance of good mental health."

He also sent his well wishes to the family of three as they embark on a new chapter and revealed he is "so happy to now be able to share about our special time together".
