It's nice to know George RR Martin still has time for jokes while we all wait for The Winds of Winter.
The Game of Thrones author has delivered one of his rare Twitter posts, containing a photo of him pulling an unexpected pose: "So, my publishers say I have to start trying to appeal to a younger audience…"

We can only imagine the "WAZZZUUUPPP!" is a reference to that infamous Budweiser advert that just about everyone parodied a decade ago.
George has also been writing about his fans on Twitter, saying he wonders what "ultra motivational speeches" he'll be getting, presumably in connection with finally finishing book six of his Song of Ice and Fire saga.
We don't think he was being sarcastic but, either way, the responses are super positive, showing that he has possibly the most patient fans ever.
I wonder what my fans will be talking about in the comments today? Oh...right...The same ultra motivational speeches I get every day... Yay!- George RR Martin (@GRRMspeaking) April 11, 2017
"Take your time! Your work will last forever," one replied, with another adding: "George, don't listen to the haters. Please take your time and write at your own pace. We have 5 great books to occupy our time."
George previously revealed that we will be receiving new material from him this year, just not The Winds of Winter.
A story called 'The Sons of the Dragon' will feature in anthology The Book of Swords, edited by his long-time friend Gardner Dozois, with George's story chronicling the reigns of the second and third Targaryen kings.
It's better than nothing, right?
Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK this July.
