The sister of ex-Union J star George Shelley died from "severe traumatic brain injury" after attending a Stormzy gig, an inquest has confirmed.

Harriet Shelley passed away in May this year after being struck by a car and receiving fatal head injuries.

Following her death, the police appealed to the public for more information, and an inquest this week revealed the 21-year-old midwife was hit by a Volkswagen Beetle after stepping out from behind Stormzy's tour bus, having attended his gig at the O2 venue in Bristol.

The court heard Harriet was nearly three times over the drink-drive limit when she walked out from between an HGV and a coach carrying crew and equipment for the Stormzy concert.

As a result of the collision, Harriet suffered "severe traumatic brain injury" and later died in hospital.

The driver of the Beetle "could do nothing to avoid the collision", according to the coroner.

"In less than a second of emerging between the two vehicles she was struck by a Volkswagen Beetle driven by Claire Webster," said assistant coroner Peter Harrowing (via The Sun).

"Ms Webster reacted very very quickly indeed. Even though she reacted with such speed she could do nothing to avoid the collision with Harriet.

"Ms Webster didn't even realise she had struck someone until she looked in her rear view mirror."

Following her death, five people received organ donations from organ donor Harriet – including a baby.
