Gerard Butler has reportedly been rushed to hospital after his motorbike was run off the road in Los Angeles.

The Scottish actor is thought to have escaped without any serious injuries, despite being taken to A&E in an ambulance on Sunday.

According to TMZ, an onlooker called 911 when the Geostorm star was ‘cut off by a car’, which forced him to crash into the side of the road.

“Someone called 911, paramedics came and took Gerard to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries,” a source told TMZ.

The insider added that Butler managed to escape with no broken bones and just had “cuts and bruises”.

Butler, who is currently promoting forthcoming big screen blockbuster Geostorm, recently had a health scare when he nearly took a fatal overdose of bee venom.

The actor was convinced to use venom for its ‘anti-inflammatory compounds’ to cope with the physical stress of working on his new film, but had an allergic reaction.

“I had a lot of inflammation. I was hanging a lot on wires in this 65 pound space suit, and that's fine for a couple hours, but after five weeks, you're hurting,” he told Seth Myers.

After testing him out to see if he was allergic, Butler’s ‘venom dealer’ then injected him with the venom of 23 bee stings.

“And then I have the worst reaction,” he said. “I get ants crawling in my pants. And in my head. And suddenly my arm starts swelling up and I get all blotchy.

“My heart's beating and I think it's going to explode, so I said to him, ‘Dude, get the epi-pen... call an ambulance’”.
