Geri Horner will sing at her own funeral

Following the death of her close friend, George Michael, former Spice Girl Geri Horner has revealed she’s already started making arrangements for her own funeral.

The 44-year-old is planning an unusual send-off after admitting she will ‘sing’ one of her own songs to mourners during the service – and she already has the perfect track in mind.

‘The songs I want playing at my funeral would be a track of mine called Beautiful Life,’ she told the Daily Star.

‘I wrote it, and it probably won’t make my new album because it got leaked’.

Geri claims her choice of music is a way to help her family and friends feel ‘connected’ to her when the day finally comes.

‘I don’t want people to be happy or sad, I just want them to feel connected,’ she added.

But her song choice may not be set in stone as she confessed the track may not be quite suitable for a funeral service.

She said: ‘The only thing is… the song sounds like something that would play on a frozen food advert.’

Geri’s revelation comes after she broke down in tears during a chat on This Morning following the death of George Michael.

Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she said: ‘I absolutely loved him. When I left the Spice Girls, he took me under his wing.

‘He was such a lovely person, and suddenly I had a baby. It’s the circle of life, you just don’t expect it.’

The late singer passed away on Christmas Day 2016 just weeks before Geri gave birth to her son, Montague George Hector Horner.
