A high-speed train has derailed in Dortmund, German police said.

The national Bundespolizei posted a photo on Twitter showing a picture of the train partially off the tracks.

The train, which was travelling to Duesseldorf from Berlin, had derailed for unknown reasons on Monday, officials said.

Passengers were evacuated from the train and taken to safety by fire crews, local media reported.

No one is believed to have been injured.

The Bundespolizei said the train and tracks were "seriously damaged" and it was unclear how long the stretch of track where the derailment happened would be closed.
