German Shepherd Rescued After Hours Stuck in Well

A German shepherd was rescued from a deep well in Bonita, California, after becoming stuck on Wednesday, February 1.

Footage recorded by the San Diego Humane Society shows Indy, a nine-year-old male German shepherd, being winched from what the society said was a 40-to-50-foot-deep well.

Local media reported that Indy had fallen into the well while playing on a property that was regularly rented to dog owners.

According to Indy’s owners, he is a veteran of an Arizona sheriff’s department, the report added.

Chula Vista Fire Department first tweeted about the rescue at 3:40 pm on Wednesday. Shortly before 7, the department tweeted a picture of a wet, but free Indy. Credit: San Diego Humane Society via Storyful
