German Soldiers Return Home After Kabul Evacuation Efforts

German troops returned to the Wunstorf Air Base following evacuation operations in Kabul on August 27, the country’s Federal Ministry of Defense said.

Video shared by the ministry shows German troops walking across the airbase, followed by a formal presentation by General Pfeffer reporting the evacuation operation was over to the country’s Minister of Defense.

Germany concluded its operations in Afghanistan five days before the US military’s August 31 withdrawal deadline, with the last evacuation flight leaving Kabul on August 26, Deutsche Welle reported.
