Ricky Gervais has claimed he wants his body given to a zoo to be fed to lions when he dies.

Rejecting a more conventional cremation or burial, the comedian and advocate for animal rights said, “I don’t care about my body.”

Gervais, 59, shared his unusual wish during an appearance on US TV’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, adding that it would be “brilliant” for lions to eat his private parts.

He said: “I do not care about my body. Feed me to the lions.

“Like, me just being thrown into the lion’s cage at the zoo and people, all tourists, going, ‘Is that the bloke from The Office?’ Then they see the lions chewing me.

“I like the idea of two lions eating me and they go for the soft bits first.

“Just two lions just chewing my testicles. Brilliant!”

However, as his grizzly proposal will likely face strong opposition Gervais, who is currently promoting the second series of his Netflix show After Life, has a back up idea.

He said: “I will probably give it to medical science so it does some good. But I like the idea of that as medical students would cut me open and they’d go, ‘What the f*** is this, what has he been doing? This is disgusting.’”
