If you really like the concept of Pokémon GO getting you out into the world but aren't a fan of adorable Japanese critters then, first of all, shame you.

Secondly, Sony, Ghost Corps and FourThirtyThree Inc have just the thing to help you out: Ghostbusters World.

The marketing states that this game will differentiate itself with "skill-based gameplay", whatever that means. We won't deny Pokémon GO can be a bit 'hands off' (for lack of a better term), but getting those ball spins aren't easy, ya know.

Ghostbusters World is currently in development for a release at some point this year, and we can expect lots of new features to be announced as the months go on.

It marks the latest iteration of the hit 1984 comedy film after Paul Feig directed an all-female reboot of Ghostbusters back in 2016 and, although doesn't look like we'll be getting a sequel to that one due to its under performance at the box office, an animated series called Ghostbusters: Ecto Force was announced two years back to be coming out in 2018.

It's now been put on hold to make way for an animated movie.

So while there doesn't look to be another live-action movie any time soon, the franchise is still keeping itself in the public consciousness. Unless Ghostbusters World turns out worse than the terrible 2016 game.

And if you're STILL wanting a third film with the original cast, just play the PS3 and Xbox 360 game instead. It's the best you're gonna get.
